What To Expect

When you come to iFLY get ready to be blown away – literally.

It’s thrilling. It’s amazing. Experience the feeling of freefall as you float on a smooth cushion of air. There’s no parachute, no jumping, and nothing attaching you to planet Earth. It’s just you FLYING in the air. Super fun, super safe and super cool! iFLY is where the dream of flight becomes a reality. Become a part of something bigger than yourself. You’ll fall in love with the sensation and the freedom that comes with floating on air and when you do, there’s a new & exciting sport of bodyflight to become involved in.

The iFLY experience, from check-in to check out, lasts roughly 1.5 – 2 hours and each flight is the equivalent to 1.5 skydives from 12,000 feet. You can purchase 2 or more flights, and the more you fly, the better it gets.

Before your flight:

ARRIVAL: Your report time at iFLY will be confirmed to you via email once you have successfully completed a booking with us. If you haven’t yet made your booking, you should be aware that, just like catching a plane you must arrive and 'check-in' before your actual flight time. You should report to the front desk at 27 Brecon Street, Queenstown AT LEAST 1 HOUR PRIOR to your flight time. So, if you choose to fly at 4pm you must arrive by 3pm. Please do not be late as we hate to see people miss their flights and we are unable to offer refunds to people who arrive too late. If you haven’t completed a flight waiver before arrival, you can do so at the Check-in Counter. Flyers under 18 need to have a waiver completed by a parent or guardian before they fly.

CHECK-IN: Once you’ve checked in and completed your waiver, one of our Flight Crew will help you with getting your wristband on and making your way to the Flight Deck, where you’ll be able to watch other flyers before you get to say Hi to your instructor.

During your flight.

TRAINING: Your flight instructor is trained and certified by the IBA (International Bodyflight Association)[link to www.tunnelflight.com] – he or she is happy to any questions or concerns about flying or the sport of bodyflight! During training in our classroom, you’ll learn proper body positioning and hand signals used by our instructors to guide your flight. Remember: Relax and have fun!

GEAR UP: After training, your instructor will lead you to the Gear Up counter to get sorted with your helmet, flight suit and goggles to wear during your experience.

FLYING: It’s time to fly! Your instructor will lead you into the Flight Chamber and help you getting in and out, and of course all the way through your flight. Remember what you learned during training to help achieve proper technique, and don’t forget to smile! Once you nail the basics, the wind tunnel can become your playground! Enjoy an instructor air show once you and your group have finished flying.
