Your guide to planning the perfect Christmas function at iFLY
Christmas is fast approaching, which means the festive function season is just around the corner! Bring your work whānau along to iFLY for a Christmas party with a difference – with plenty of high-flying fun as the team soars, sips, snacks, and signs off from 2023.
Step One – It’s a date!
First things first, it’s time to choose a date to celebrate. Book early to guarantee your preferred day and time – especially if it’s a Friday during November/December. Or throw a mid-week party, treating the team to a half-day off so you can kickstart your festivities with a fun-filled afternoon.
Next, it’s time to work out your group size. If you have a smaller team then you can easily book our wind tunnel for an hour or two during our regular opening hours, or larger organisations can opt for an exclusive venue hire of the entire complex.
Step Two – Activity Time
Now the fun part – planning the itinerary. Some attendees may be eager to burn off some steam and get the adrenaline pumping, whilst some will be happy to chill out with a drink in hand – we cater for all.
After a quick training session and demonstration, it’s time for your squad to step up to the plate. Everyone can enjoy at least two freefall flights along with photos and videos of them in action – perfect for the office fridge! Now’s your chance to finally ‘toss the boss’ – into our giant wind tunnel, that is!
We can host up to 300 people at iFLY – whilst one group is flying, another is getting suited up, and others can relax and spectate with 360° views of all the action.
For exclusive hires, the arena and foyer are all yours to decorate as you please, along with our conference room that features stunning views of the Remarkables.
Step Three – A Festive Feast
At iFLY you’re in for a treat with our valued catering partners In2Food serving up delicious menus. Take your pick from a ‘walk and fork’ selection of tapas and canapes, or full table service with a range of scrumptious shared plates. Or go all-out with a gourmet buffet BBQ, for that classic Kiwi Christmas fare. If you’re a smaller group, get your activity fix at iFLY then walk over to the neighbouring Upper Valley precinct, where a mix of restaurants and eateries offer plenty of variety to suit your tastes.
Step Four – Theme It Up!
It’s been a big year for small businesses. Perhaps a special awards ceremony is in order – recognising those who’ve been outstanding employees this year, who’s gone above and beyond – and even who performed the best tricks in the wind tunnel!
Feel free to dress up in your best festive outfits, and if you’ll do a gift exchange or Secret Santa game, we’ll provide the tree. Create a shared playlist full of your office favourites that everyone will love boogieing along to – with exclusive venue hires, you can be the DJ!
